Moving is a common inconvenience that many have to face at some point in their lives. Whether for a new job, school, or just a change of scenery, moving can be an incredibly stressful experience. Not only is packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking a tedious task, but there are also the necessary transfers and set-ups in regards to your needed entertainment services! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to ensure that once you terminate your services at your old home, they will be ready and waiting for you at your new home? With Sky TV, you can make that happen with just a simple phone call or click of the mouse!
Regardless of if you are a new or existing Sky+ or Sky Q customer, selecting and transferring your services is incredibly simple. To get started, simply log on the Sky website, click on the Help and Support icon at the top of the screen and then select Moving Home from the drop down menu. Once there, you will be redirected to all the help related topics to help guide you through the process of switching your existing service or signing up for service at your new home. If you are an existing Sky TV customer, be sure to log in to your account before delving in as Sky can provide you with a more personalised experience based upon the information that is on record for your services. It is very important to contact Sky directly at least two weeks prior to your actual move, to allow for ample time to set up and arrange service transfer at your new home. You can even book or move up to ninety days in advance! As you pack for your move, it is vitally important to make sure that you pack all your Sky equipment (with the exception of your satellite dish and cables running to it) and to also contact Sky to double check that your new home is Sky ready. For instance, if you are moving into a newly built home, there may in fact be some standard factors that can lead to delays in installation for your TV or Broadband services. To ensure any unanticipated delays, be sure to call Sky to make sure that a transfer of services is standard and easy. If you are Sky ready to proceed with installing your services yourself, feel free to plug everything in and you should be all set to go once you have ensured that everything is ready. However, in the unforeseen event that a professional installation is required, it is best to be aware that certain one-time fees may apply, particularly if your new home requires a “non-standard” installation. You can check out more on this on the Sky website.
Your new Sky services will start to work the moment they are plugged in at your new home. If there is already a Sky dish at your new location, you can follow the simple instructions Sky+ TV Self-setup tab or just opt to have a Sky professional come out and set up for you. For broadband services, you will receive a letter from Sky within about ten days from your initial moving arrangement with them to confirm the activation date for your new services.
